 Central Support Staff
Hi,
If a Directorate has admin staff that work for all services i.e. they are central support/admin function, are they included in the mapping. It would be difficult to allocate these across the numerous services?
What do we need to do?
Hope you can help
Thanks
Julie

Hi Julie,
The most accurate way to record the admin staff is to divide their whole time equivalent time over the services that they work for. This would give each service a good representation of what admin support they receive.
I can understand that this may be difficult if the amount of time they spend on each service varies but it will give the best results. Recording all the staff in one service or not recording any admin staff would give an inaccurate picture.
Hope this helps, Service Mapping Helpdesk

Thanks for the previous response.
Whilst this may make sense for a team of admin staff, does the same apply for a senior managers i.e. business manager, which is usually 1 WTE across possibly 20/30 services?
Should we apply the same rules?
Thanks
Julie

Only direct management needs to be included in the Service Mapping and therefore senior managers need not be included.
Kind Regards,
